I didn't know about the 2 markets until this morning. I love the one on the old square because it's within a block or 2 of everything I want to do on Saturday morning in town. I went there this morning and there was one stand until Bennett and Lydia showed up to set up their solar exhibit. Mr. De La Luna (the lone farmer) told me he wasn't sure why the others moved to the Thrift Store location.

I like the idea of one centralized location. In my experience, when things get too confusing people become uninterested -- in this case I'd say both vendors and buyers would be affected. And a shade/structure is a great idea!

Andrew,

I think you are right about doing one market in Alpine.

Thanks for the reply, Jo. I agree completely. A shade would go a long way to making this more appealing.

agreed.
I also think it would be beneficial for the City of Alpine to build a structure, similar to the small shade structure on Murphy St., (la Sombra), in the Old Town park, where they could meet. It would draw more attention and provide a nice centralized convening area for folks. I find it unappealing to go to two different locations. I enjoy the atmosphere at the MFS and think the organizer, Sandra, has done a great job.

Thanks for opening up this dialogue. I am eager to hear what others have to say about this topic.
