Visitors to Big Bend have three choices when it comes to lodging: pitch a tent, set up in an RV or stay at one of the comfortable hotels in the area.
The park offers 800,000 miles of scenic terrain and no matter where you choose to stay, the beauty of the wilderness will provide the perfect backdrop for your trip.
Where to Stay Inside Big Bend National Park
The Chisos Mountain Lodge is the only lodging option actually located in Big Bend National Park. All 72 rooms are comfortably furnished and feature many conveniences, including air conditioning, a refrigerator, a coffee pot and a microwave. Room rates start at $113 per night.
If you’re camping in Big Bend, the three developed campsites in the park are available for guests. Rio Grande Village, Chisos Basin and Cottonwood are open year round, with reservations for group sites being accepted up to 180 days in advance. Each site costs $14 a night and permits can be purchased at visitor centers.
Twenty-five RV hookups are accessible at the Rio Grande Village campground. Although there is no size restriction, periodically a few sites may not be available for a 40′ or longer RV. The cost is currently $29 (double) with a $3 additional per person charge.
Lajitas Golf Resort and Spa
Located in nearby Lajitas, the Lajitas Golf Resort and Spa offers modern amenities and beautifully appointed guest rooms on an almost 27,000 acre private estate community. Each of the resort’s 72 rooms, 16 suites and 2 cottages are uniquely furnished, with individuality being one of the most important features of every space.
The Agave Spa, Black Jack’s Crossing Golf Course and the Equestrian Center provide guests of Lajitas Resort a unique opportunity to participate in a variety of activities. Other draws include an outdoor amphitheater, general store and cowboy art gallery.
The Maverick Ranch RV Park, located on the Lajitas Resort property, offers 101 sites, including 60 pull-through sites. Wireless high-speed Internet access, luxurious bathrooms with private showers, a swimming pool and a new laundromat are just a few of the amenities that are available to guests.
Big Bend Resort and Adventures
Big Bend Resort and Adventures, located three miles from the western entrance to the park, features three lodging options: The Motor Inn, the Mission Lodge and an RV park.
The Motor Inn has a total of 51 non-smoking guest rooms in seven different buildings. Located just across the street, the Mission Lodge offers 35 motel rooms in two buildings and one small apartment. Both options are complemented by a conference center, café and on-site convenience store. A nine-hole golf course and numerous other activities are offered to guests on this spacious property.
The Big Bend Resort also features the largest RV Park and campground in the area, with 131 full hook-up sites. Rates start at $13 for tent sites and range from $22 to $30 per night for RV sites.
