I’ve given up on ever making a profit with West Texas Weekly. My income from it is about $10 a month; this is probably just enough to cover internet hosting fees.
I do this because I love it. I do it because the West Texas local newspapers are dull as dishwater. I do it because it is fun. I do it because I want to express myself.
West Texas Weekly is growing, but I need your help.
IF YOU READ SOMETHING YOU LIKE ON WTW, PLEASE:
- Tell your friends about it. West Texas Weekly is free for all to use. The larger the community that uses it, the better the discussion and dialogue we have on here.
- Leave a comment. This encourages me to continue this work. I don’t expect money, but a little recognition is nice.
- E-mail the link to a friend. Share via FaceBook. Share via Digg. Whatever social media you use, please use it to demonstrate your preferences.
National Public Radio has these gigantic beggathons begging for money twice a week. I’m not asking for money, or pledges, or your junked auto. I’m just asking you to take five seconds to hit the FaceBook share button on an article you like.
If you really, really, really love what you see here contribute a tiny amount of money. A large latte costs $3.66 at Starbucks.
Thanks, guys. You are the reason I keep doing this.
