Nature Photography Contest DEADLINE

West Texas Weekly is announcing a photography contest! There will be $200 worth of prizes for first, second and third. First place will win the privilege of having an exclusive photography feature on West Texas Weekly.

The theme is the natural beauty of the Big Bend.

The contest is open to all non-professional photographers who have photos taken in this area. Photos taken from outside our geographic area will not be considered.

Please submit one photo in each of the following categories:

  • Plant life
  • Animal life
  • Landscape


Submit photos by e-mailing me jpegs at andrewsuber@hotmail.com. Submissions will be accepted for the next two weeks. The submission deadline is midnight May 11th.
Your photos will be posted within this post after the deadline. My readers will assess and vote on the photos through their comments.

I vote for the (probably) unpopular #3 because it shows patience and reveals more than meets the eyes. Also, a certain ambiguity missing in the “artier” ones.
